Introduction
B&NES is proposing to create 16 supported homes for people with autism and/or learning difficulties on land to the rear of 89-123 Englishcombe Lane, near Bath. This will be a life changing scheme for its residents, enabling them to live independently with appropriate care and support in their own homes.
The site is allocated for residential development in the Bath and North East Somerset Placemaking Plan (adopted July 2017) (Policy SB17). Proposals will be the subject of a formal planning submission to B&NES later in Spring 2024.
Building with Nature guidance has been used to inform the site layout and respond to constraints, working with the site’s ecology, hydrology and geology to create a design which has landscape and sustainability at its core.
